Hello! I can't wait to meet all of you and get to know what makes each of you- you! While you'll learn a whole lot about me in the coming year, for now here is a little preview of the things I hold near and dear to my heart ❤️.
This was created using Adobe XD, an app I'll be using a lot in my classroom!
If you still want to know more, here are a few things I could go on and on and on about.... Please reach out to me if any of these experiences spark your interest, I'd love to chat about them!!
1. My life in Venezuela! I was born just a little north of the equator. It was hot! Most of my childhood was spent running through sprinklers in my grandmother's front yard. Living in Venezuela shaped a lot of how I approach teaching cultural competency to my students. If you'd like to find out more, watch my TEDx talk of how this experience formed my perspective on storytelling.
2. My summer in Los Angeles! The summer before my third year of undergrad, I was able to spend two months creating a project centered on new immigrants in the LA area thanks to the support of a fellowship. I came out of this summer disillusioned by the public sector, especially public education, government communications, and immigration policies. The following fall, I changed my course to best learn how to tackle each of these issues one by one. (this was also where I fell in love with California)
3. My work with Adobe! After finishing my undergrad, I spent a few years working at Adobe on their Education team. My job consisted of exploring how technology could be integrated into classroom studies in order to turn students from media consumers to multimodal creators. A lot of the projects I worked on will be integrated into how I teach your students!

My final project was called Otra Vez: Once Again from the Beginning
